Mogren is the beach most people picture when they think of Budva: two coves of fine sand and small pebble backed by tall cliffs, joined by a short tunnel cut through the rock. It sits just west of the Old Town, close enough that you can be on a sunbed five minutes after leaving the walls, yet the cliffs hide it completely until the last bend of the path.
The walk in is part of the experience. A paved coastal path starts by the Old Town walls, hugs the rock above the sea, and passes the Dancing Girl statue, Budva’s most photographed landmark, before dropping down to the first cove. Take care after rain: the stone gets slippery, and parts of the path run right above the water.
The first cove is the busier one, with the sunbed concession and most of the activity; walk through the tunnel and the second cove is usually a touch calmer. The water is clear and shelves gently, so families with children do fine here. In July and August it fills up fast; mornings are the quiet window.
You will not go hungry. There is a beach bar on the sand, Vista Vidikovac sits on the viewpoint above the path, and the Stari Grad restaurants, Porto among them, are the same short walk back along the coast.
